At the age of 17, most teens are doing things like picking out their outfits to prom and deciding where they want to go for college. Payday on the other hand just played ACL festival wearing a custom pink top set with her name written all over the fabric. The young rapper has been making waves in the music industry for the past few years; she first began putting her music on SoundCloud in her early days after a friend would send her beats to rap over.
Lyrically vibrant and beautifully relatable, Payday’s songs create a vivid painting of her world. From her almost-ethereal “I Don’t Cry” to the sax-heavy “Beam”, Payday’s music is always unexpected and interesting to listen to. The artist released her album “Rap In A Can” last month which is an absolute treat to listen to from the first track to the last.
Nobody can guess what Payday will rap about next but one thing is for certain; she doesn’t need a custom outfit for people to remember her name. Her talent speaks for itself.
You can stay up-to-date with Payday by following her on Instagram and listen to her tunes here.
