Earlier this week we had the chance to catch Canadian rising star BAD CHILD perform to a sold-out crowd at in Vancouver while supporting alternative rock musician grandson.
A perfect “outlier,” BAD CHILD’s music defies sticking to one single genre; the artist blends electronic, hip-hop, r&b, and rock elements to create something entirely unique and new. Last month the musician released his first album titled “Sign Up.” The album captivates the listener within the first few seconds with the opening track “Signing Up” which uses an automated robotic voice similar to Amazon’s Alexa or Apple’s Siri to immerse fans into the world of BAD CHILD. Stand-out tracks on the album include the beat-driven deep cut “Picking Cherries,” “Breathing Fire” which includes soaring vocals from the artist, and “BAD CHILD” which is the track that kickstarted the his career.
Although his music may be defined as having a slower bpm, that didn’t stop BAD CHILD from dancing and jumping across the stage throughout his performance. Between his infectious energy, killer vocals, and ability to bring his sharply produced music to life in a live set, it was impossible to keep your eye’s off the artist. Whether the crowd went in knowing BAD CHILD’s music or not, it would be nearly impossible to not leave as a new fan after such a stellar performance.
You can stay up-to-date with BAD CHILD by following him on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Check out our Polaroid spotlight we did with him here. A photo gallery of the night is below!
