SHAED is a Washington, D.C. based trio composed of lead vocalist Chelsea Lee and twin producers Max and Spencer Ernst. The trio creates synth-heavy electro pop music that combines Chelsea’s wide vocal range with keyboards, electric guitars, percussion, and bass. SHAED’s moody track ‘Trampoline’ has received great success after being featured in an Apple MacBook Air campaign. The group has been on tour for the past few months across the US. I had the chance to catch their live show to a sold-out crowd at the Moroccan Lounge in LA.

During their set, Chelsea explained that although they love performing in LA, sometimes they find that the crowd can be stiff but she said that wasn’t the case with this audience. Their groovy music translated beautifully to their live performance and the crowd loved it. Max and Spencer kept swapping turns on the instruments on the sides of the stage to bring their interesting beats to life. Top moments of the night included their opening song ‘Too Much’ which set the tone for the night, the moody and layered track ‘Melt’, and when they played their hit track ‘Trampoline’.

Although their tour is wrapping up, SHAED will be playing several festivals this year including BottleRock, Governor’s Ball, Firefly, and Electric Forest. You can find more info about their tour dates here. You can follow along their journey on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. A photo gallery from the night is included below!
