Black Tiger Sex Machine is a Canadian trio known for their immersive live performances, tiger masks, and their bass-heavy music. In addition to their tour, they are playing at a variety of music festivals this year in the US, including Crush Arizona, Stacked, and Electric Forest.
On Thursday January 24, 2019, Black Tiger Sex Machine’s Ceremony Part III tour hit Boulder, Colorado’s Fox Theater. The sold-out crowd was full of dedicated fans, many of whom had tiger helmets themselves, some even had ones that lit up. The show was opened by the Montreal-based Lektrique and Dallas-based producer He$h. While I unfortunately missed the majority of Lektrique’s set, He$h played an incredibly heavy set that had the crowd excited and moshing the entire time.
By the time BTSM took the stage, the crowd was hyped up and ready to dance. The live show was all new, while still holding all the signature aspects of a BTSM show, most notably the helmets which are controlled live on stage rather than synced as part of the lighting. The incredible visuals on the screen behind the group were captivating and fit with the music perfectly. Even the visual which read “Warning” before the group hit the stage had the crowd anticipating their arrival minutes before the start of the set. The show overall was incredible. Fans got to hear the highly anticipated collaboration with Los Angeles based producer, Kayzo, and many of the group’s other songs.
Part III of the Ceremony tour continues this week with three dates in Texas. Follow along on the trio’s journey on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Photos from the night can be found below!
