My second day of ACL began with an early start. I was through the festival gates to catch the experimental electronic duo slenderbodies who had a set time of 12:00 at the HomeAway Stage. The duo performed a 45 minute set and took everyone’s minds off the scorching sun and brought them into their world of unique sounds.

After slenderbodies, I stuck around the HomeAway stage for the beginning of VÉRITÉ’s set. She delivered a beautiful, raw performance. I would be interested in seeing her in an intimate venue in the future.

Picking up the energy after VÉRITÉ, I headed over to the American Express Stage to see The Wombats. I’ve been dying to see the UK-based band for ages and they brought out a lively and energetic performance.

After a last-minute injury, rock band Highly Suspect unfortunately had to cancel their set. The quick turn of events resulted in slenderbodies playing a second Saturday set at 4:15 on the American Express Stage. Again, they gave a lively, layered performance to a much larger crowd than their earlier set and turned many people into new fans. I had the chance to quickly meet up with the duo after their second set to snap a quick portrait.

After catching up with slenderbodies, I decided to finish my second day at ACL with three electronic artists; San Holo, Sylvan Esso, and Justice. San Holo had a beautiful set during Golden Hour. The Tito’s Handmade Vodka Stage was overflowing with fans and he brought high energy, mixing everything from Kanye West with many of his own tracks. After San Holo, I quickly made my way over to the Miller Lite Stage and was able to catch most of Sylvan Esso’s set. I’m a huge fan of their production style and their beautiful stage present made for a wonderful performance.

Known as a “musicians you need to experience live,” Justice blew me away once again. This was the second time seeing them and my spot in the middle of the crowd allowed me to see the entire light production; which was otherworldly.

Day 2 was full of wonderful performances, mostly electronic, that blew me away. I’m sad the weekend is coming to a close but I’m eager to see what the last day of ACL has in store for us! Be sure to check out ACL on Instagram and check out the photo gallery from Day 2 below!
