There are two types of music listeners – lyric listeners and beat listeners. I’m a beat listener. Until recently, I rarely paid attention to lyrics and I only cared about how a song sounded. I never made the connection of what the lyrics were saying when I was belting it out in my tone deaf screaming. However, sometimes lyrics grab me even though I always hear the beat first.
The lyrics of LINES’ newest track ‘Lockdown’ stand out to me. Just listen to this: “your love is gonna fuck with my head.” Relatable? Yes. It’s something that most people on this earth have felt.
‘Lockdown’ feels like you are dancing at a cool underground club drinking gin. It’s dancey, layered, and groovy. It feels cool and you’ll feel even cooler when you listen to is. The four piece Swedish band also have a song called ‘Weekends’ that will put a pep in your step and their track ‘You’ has received over 5 million streams on Spotify.
